SYTHROID

Synthroid can be used to treat hypothyroidism or weakness of the thyroid hormone. It can also be used to prevent goitre or hypertrophy of the thyroid. Synthroid can act just like the natural hormone produced by the thyroid gland.

Synthroid is manufactured by Abbott Laboratories.

Synthroid (Levothyroxine) is given when the thyroid does not produce enough of this hormone itself.
Synthroid treats hypothyroidism or weakness of the thyroid hormone. Levothyroxine is also used to treat or prevent goitre - hypertrophy of the thyroid gland - which can be caused by hormonal imbalances, treatments with radiotherapy, surgery or cancer.

Synthroid should not be used to treat obesity or weight problems.

Synthroid can also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Buy Synthroid – Indications

Synthroid is used to treat hypothyroidism (hypothyroidism). It replaces or provides more thyroid hormone, which is normally produced by the thyroid gland. The reduction in the volume of thyroid hormones can occur naturally or when the thyroid gland is injured by radiation, medications or removed by surgery.

Having a significant amount of thyroid hormone is important for maintaining normal mental and physical activity. In children, having enough thyroid hormone is important for mental development and normal physical growth. This medicine is also used to treat other types of thyroid disorders such as certain types of goiters, thyroid cancer. The drug should not be used to treat infertility unless it is caused by low thyroid hormone levels.

Dosage Levothyroxine without prescription

It is recommended to take this medicine orally 1 time / day on an empty stomach, 30 minutes to 1 hour before breakfast, with a glass of water, while respecting the instructions of the practitioners. If you take the capsule form of the drug, swallow it whole, and avoid splitting, crushing, or chewing. Patients who cannot swallow the entire capsule (infants or small children) should use the tablet form of the drug. For infants or children who cannot swallow the tablets whole, crush the tablet and mix with 1 to 2 teaspoons of water, and give using a spoon.

Note that the dosage is determined based on age, weight, health status, laboratory test results, and reaction to treatment. It is strictly forbidden to change the dosage of the drugs without the advice of the attending physician! In some cases, thyroid replacement therapy may be prescribed indefinitely.

Possible synthroid side effects

Get emergency medical help if you experience any of the following allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of the lips, face, tongue or throat. Inform the practitioner if you have a serious side effect such as headache; sleep disorders (insomnia); fever, hot flashes, irregular heartbeat, sweating, menstrual cycle disorder, appetite.

Less serious side effects may include hair loss etc. .... note that other symptoms may occur. Contact the treating physician for medical advice on side effects.

Synthroid has a very narrow therapeutic index. Whatever the indication of use, some caution should be observed when taking different doses to avoid the consequences of treatment over or under dosing. These consequences include, but are not limited to, effects on growth and development, bone metabolism, cardiovascular function, reproductive function, cognitive function, emotional state, gastrointestinal function, and glucose metabolism and lipids.

Many drugs that interact with levothyroxine sodium require dosage adjustments to maintain the therapeutic response.

Synthroid 200mg Interactions Online

Many drugs affect the pharmacokinetics of thyroid hormone and its metabolism (absorption, synthesis, secretion, catabolism, protein binding and target tissue response) and may alter the therapeutic response to SYNTHROID.

In addition, thyroid hormones and thyroid status have varying effects on the pharmacokinetics and actions of other drugs.

A list of thyroid drug interactions is contained in Table 2. This list of interactions is non-exhaustive because of the introduction of new drugs that interact with the thyroid axis or the discovery of unknown interactions. The prescriber should be aware of this fact and should consult appropriate referral sources such as, newly approved drug product literature and medical literature for more information if a drug interaction with levothyroxine is suspected.
