Possible side effects buspar generic 10mg

Some side effects may be caused by buspirone (the active ingredient in BuSpar). In the event that any of these side effects occur, it may require medical assistance.
The most common effects are: agitation, nervousness or unusual excitement

The rarer effects are: blurred vision, sweating, decreased concentration, drowsiness, diarrhea, dry mouth, muscle aches, spasms, cramps or stiffness, ringing in the ears, sleep disturbances, nightmares or vivid dreams, unusual tiredness or weakness.

Studies indicate that BuSpar (buspirone) is less sedative than other anxiolytics and does not produce significant functional impotence. However, its effects on the central nervous system in any individual patient may not be predictable. Therefore, patients should be warned about the use of motor vehicles and some complex devices, until they are reasonably certain that buspirone does not affect them negatively.

While formal studies of the interaction of BuSpar (buspirone hydrochloride) with alcohol indicate that it does not increase alcohol-induced depression in mental disorders, it is prudent to avoid the use of alcohol. Concomitant of alcohol with buspirone.

Buspirone interactions in online pharmacy

MAO inhibitors: It is not recommended to use BuSpar (buspirone) with MAO inhibitors.

Amitriptyline: After addition of buspirone to amitriptyline, no significant differences in the steady-state pharmacokinetic parameters (Cmax, AUC and Cmin) of amitriptyline or its metabolite nortriptyline were observed.

Diazepam: After addition of buspirone to diazepam, no significant differences in the stable pharmacokinetics of the parameters (Cmax, AUC and Cmin) were observed for diazepam, but an increase of approximately 15% was observed for Nordiazepam as well as vertigo, headache and nausea on some patients.

Haloperidol: In a study in healthy volunteers, concomitant administration of buspirone and haloperidol resulted in increased serum haloperidol concentrations. The clinical significance of this observation is unclear.

Nefazodone: (see Inhibitors and inducers of cytochrome P450 3A4 [CYP3A4]) Trazodone: There is a report suggesting that concomitant use of Desyrel® (trazodone hydrochloride) and buspirone may have caused 3- to 6-fold elevations on SGPT (ALT) in some patients.

In a similar study attempting to replicate this finding, no interactive effect on hepatic transaminases was identified.

Triazolam / Flurazepam: Concomitant administration of buspirone with either triazolam or flurazepam does not appear to prolong or intensify sedative effects.
